When I got up this morning, it was beautiful outside. It was supposed to get nasty later in the day, and I hadn’t mowed in a couple of weeks, so I jumped on the mower and knocked the top off everything. By the time I finished, I barely had time to get a shower before we had to drop my car off for an oil change. At Broken Arrow Park, the annual mud volleyball tournament was being held.

We decided to scrounge for lunch, so I had leftover dinner from last night. After lunch, we went and picked up the car, at which point it was still sunny and beautiful out. The girls went shopping and left me with a little free time. When they got home, Kaity made deviled eggs for a Post-Hooding graduation party for our friend Shawna Chapman. The party was scheduled to start at 6 PM, and I had to leave around 7:30 to go to work for maintenance. Well, we showed up right at 6:00. No one was there. So, we took Charlie over to the swings. Around 6:15 nobody had showed up yet, and suddenly the Tornado Sirens went off. Wait … I thought the Rapture was supposed to start at 6:00! Guess it just got off to a late start. We made a dash for the car and came home. Around 7:00 we got a call letting us know the party had been moved to Shawna’s house, but it was too late by then. Plus the weather was pretty bad to our west. People really did get hurt or killed by tornadoes. One little town of 250 got demolished. I left shortly after 7:00 to go to work. I was home again by 10:30. I guess I’m not gonna get raptured. Oh well.
